Ingredients/Components

  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • ground ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • soy sauce - 1/4 c
  • clove garlic - 1 item
  • stalks celery, sliced thin - 2 item
  • tomatoes, cut into wedges - 2 item
  • chuck or round steak - 1 lb
  • green onion, sliced thin - 1 c
  • red or green pepper, cut into 1-inch sq - 1 c

How to make green pepper steak:

Cut steak across grain into thin strips. Combine soy sauce, garlic and ginger. Add beef; toss and set aside. Heat oil in large pan or wok. Add beef; toss on high heat until browned. If meat is not tender, cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes. Turn up heat. Add vegetables; toss until vegetables are tender-crisp, about 10 minutes. Mix cornstarch with water; add to pan. Stir until thickened. Add tomatoes and heat through.
