Hamburger barley soup
Ingredients/Components
- water - 7 c
- paprika - 1/2 tsp
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- tomato juice - 6 oz
- diced celery - 1 c
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- carrots, sliced - 2 item
- barley - 1/2 c
- thyme - 1/2 tsp
- garlic - 2 tsp
- ground beef, browned and drained - 2 lb
- each salt and pepper - 1 tsp
- can tomatoes, chopped - 16 oz
- celery tops, chopped - 1/2 c
- fresh green beans, in pieces - 1/2 c
- large potato, chopped - 1 item
How to make hamburger barley soup:
Combine all but last 2 ingredients. Simmer 1 hour. Add carrots and simmer 10 minutes more. Add potato and simmer 20 minutes more.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, North american, 3 steps or less.
