New england clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- hot milk - 4 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- clam juice
- potatoes, cubed - 2 c
- medium onions, chopped - 2 item
- garlic, minced - 1/2 tsp
- salt pork - 1/4 lb
- chopped clams - 2 c
- few dashes Worcestershire sauce - 1 item
How to make new england clam chowder:
Cube pork and fry out with onions. Stir in flour and mix well. Add clam juice. Place in soup pot and add potatoes and garlic. When potatoes are nearly done, add hot milk gradually and stirring constantly until thickened. Add clams last. SeasoRecipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Clams.
