  • eggs - 4 item
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • cold water - 1 Tbsp
  • melted butter
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • light brown sugar - 2 c
  • orange juice - 2 Tbsp
  • grated rind of orange - 2 Tbsp
  • gumdrops - 1 c
  • cream powdered sugar - 2 Tbsp

How to make gumdrop cookies:

Icing:2 Tbsp. melted butter2 Tbsp. orange juice2 Tbsp. grated rind of orange2 Tbsp. cream powdered sugar Beat eggs together until very light. Add sugar and water. Beat again. Add gumdrops and nuts, dredged in flour. Add flour. Spread in two square cake pans and bake for 30 minutes in moderate oven. Bake at 325°.

Icing: Thicken all with powdered sugar. Spread when cake has cooled.
