Chocolate chip coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- dairy sour cream - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- chocolate chips - 6 oz
- melted butter - 6 Tbsp
- nuts - 1 c
- light brown sugar - 1/3 c
How to make chocolate chip coffee cake:
Stir together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. In separate bowl, combine nuts, brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon; stir in chocolate chips and set aside. Cream 1/2 cup butter, sugar and vanilla; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Add flour mixture alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Spoon 1/2 of batter in greased 10-inch tube pan. Sprinkle with half of chocolate chip mixture. Cover with remaining batter and remaining chocolate chip mixture. Bake in preheated 350° oven 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.Note: If self-rising flour is used, omit baking powder and salt.
