sugar - 1 c
eggs - 2 item
vanilla - 1 tsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
brown sugar - 1 c
baking powder - 1 tsp
baking soda - 1/2 tsp
shortening - 1 c
sifted all-purpose flour - 2 c
quick cooking oats - 2 c
coconut optional - 1 c
gumdrops, cut into small pieces - 1 c

How to make gumdrop cookies:

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add remaining ingredients. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375° oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen.
