Ingredients/Components
- garlic salt - 1 item
- onion salt - 1 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- onion, chopped - 1 item
- roast - 1 item
- or 2 New Mexico green chiles, chopped depending on taste and amount of heat desired - 1 item
- cans green chile - 2 item
- sprinkle of chile crushed red pepper - 1 item
How to make green chile:
Cook roast for about 30 minutes in stew pot on top of stove. Add remainder of ingredients and cook (with 1/2-inch of water on the bottom). Do this until the roast falls apart. Shred roast with fork.Serve with refried beans, tortillas and cheese.
Variation: After shredding, add about 3 potatoes, peeled and chopped. Cook until soft.
Note: While cooking, keep checking to make sure water is still in pan. Add more, if needed. Occasionally turn roast over.
