Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 4 Tbsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • packed brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • egg yolks - 6 item
  • baking soda
  • heavy cream - 1/2 pt
  • egg - 1 item
  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • sifted flour
  • ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • whiskey - 1 Tbsp
  • unbleached sifted flour
  • 1-inch cube peeled, fresh ginger - 1 item

How to make gingersnaps:

Mix all ingredients. Add more flour if needed to make workable dough. Take lump of dough about the size of a grapefruit and roll it out very thin. Cut into strips about 2 x 6-inch (accuracy not important). In center of each strip, cut about 1 1/2-inch
