Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 6 lb
- water - 4 c
- lemons - 4 item
- crystallized ginger - 6 oz
- pears - 9 lb
How to make ginger pears:
Note: Fruit for spiced pears should be hard, ripe, but not mellow.Make a syrup of the water and sugar. Peel and slice the pears. Put pears in syrup and boil until fruit begins to look transparent. Add grated rind of one lemon and juice of 4 lemons. Add ginger. Continue cooking until the whole is very thick. Put in glasses and seal.
