Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 item
- salt - 1 item
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 lb
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- baking soda
- ginger - 1 tsp
- dark molasses - 4 tsp
- ground cloves - 1 tsp
How to make ginger cookies:
Cream butter and sugar; add slightly beaten egg and molasses. Mix dry ingredients together; add to other ingredients. Add vanilla. Dough will be loose. Take less than teaspoonful and shape with knife. Bake in 375° oven approximately 15 to 18 minutes.This recipe was given to me by the late Ellen Oberg who was a member of our church and Ruth Circle. She passed away many years ago.
