Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 C
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 C
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/4 C
- molasses - 2 Tbsp
- ginger - 1 tsp
- ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
How to make ginger cookies:
Combine flour, baking soda, spices and 1/2 tsp. salt; set aside.Beat shortening 30 seconds; add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add molasses and egg. Beat until combined. Add dry ingredients and beat on low speed until well combined.
Shape into 1 1/2-inch balls. Dip in white sugar. Arrange 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until light brown on the bottom. Cool on wire racks.
Makes around 20 cookies.
