Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1/2 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- large egg - 1 item
- firmly packed dark brown sugar - 1/2 c
- shortening or 1/3 c - 2/3 c
- all-purpose flour, measured by scoop and level method
- coarsely broken walnuts or pecans optional - 1/2 1
How to make giant chocolate chip cookies:
Place racks at middle and top levels of oven. Preheat to 375°. In a large bowl, cream the shortening (or fat mixture) with the sugars. Stir in the egg and vanilla.
