German sweet chocolate cake

- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- egg yolks - 4 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- Crisco - 1 c
- can coconut - 1 item
- pecans, chopped - 1 c
- 1/2 sticks oleo - 1 item
- German sweet chocolate - 1 pkg
- Dissolve chocolate in 1/2 cup boiling water
How to make german sweet chocolate cake:
Heat oven to 350°. Dissolve chocolate in 1/2 cup boiling water. Beat egg whites stiff. Cream sugar, Crisco, egg yolks and salt. Add 3/4 cup buttermilk alternately with flour. Dissolve soda in remaining buttermilk. Add with the chocolate and vanilla. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in 3 layers at 350° until cake barely springs back to touch.Filling:1 c. cream1 c. pecans, chopped4 egg yolks1 1/2 c. sugar1 can coconut1 1/2 sticks oleo pinch of salt1 tsp. vanilla Cook together the ingredients.
