Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt
  • vegetable oil - 2 3
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • snipped fresh parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • fine dry bread crumbs - 3/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • finely chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • ground pork - 1/2 lb
  • sauerkraut undrained - 1 can

How to make german meatballs:

In a mixing bowl, combine first 10 ingredients; shape into 18 meatballs 2 inches each. Heat the oil in a skillet; brown the meatballs. Remove meatballs and drain fat. Spoon sauerkraut into skillet; top with meatballs. Cover and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes or until meatballs are done. Add water if necessary. Yields 6 servings.
