  • butter, softened - 1/2 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • semi-sweet chocolate - 6 oz
  • vanilla
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • flour - 2 c
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • powdered sugar
  • plus 2 c - 1/4 c
  • plus 1 1/3 c - 2 Tbsp
  • Add 1 egg, 2 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • envelopes Nestle Choco-Bake - 4 item

How to make fudge ribbon cake:

Combine 2 tablespoons butter with cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and cornstarch. Add 1 egg, 2 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Beat at high speed until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Combine flour with 2 cups sugar in a large bowl and also add the soda. Add 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup milk. Blend well at low speed. Beat 1 1/2 minutes at low speed and add 1/3 cup milk, 2 eggs, Choco-Bake and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Continue beating 1 1/2 minutes at low speed.

Spread half of batter in a 13 x 9-inch greased pan. Spoon cheese mixture over batter carefully, covering batter. Top with remaining batter. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes, until cake springs back when touched lightly in the center. Cool and frost.Frosting:1/4 c. milk1/4 c. butter6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate1 tsp. vanilla2 1/2 c. powdered sugar Combine milk and butter in a pan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Blend in chocolate. Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat until of spreading consistency. Thin with more milk, if needed.
