  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 8 oz
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk - 1 item
  • Karo syrup - 2 Tbsp
  • German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
  • margarine room temperature - 2 Tbsp
  • Prepare cake batter according to German chocolate cake mix directions
  • slivered almonds, broken up - 1 item

How to make fudge ribbon cake:

Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan. Prepare cake batter according to German chocolate cake mix directions. Pour prepared cake batter in Bundt pan.

Meanwhile, using an electric beater, mix cream cheese and margarine until fluffy. Add cornstarch and beat until light and fluffy. Add can of Eagle Brand, egg and vanilla. Beat until fluffy and smooth. Pour this mixture evenly over top of cake batter. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until done. Test with toothpick. Cool 10 minutes. Carefully turn out on cake dish. Glaze with Chocolate Glaze.Chocolate Glaze for Fudge Ribbon Cake:1/2 c. chocolate chips2 Tbsp. margarine2 Tbsp. Karo syrup slivered almonds, broken up Melt the chocolate chips and margarine until smooth. Add Karo syrup. Mix until blended. Cool. Drizzle over cake and sprinkle broken almonds over Chocolate Glaze.

Note: Can add small amount of additional Karo syrup if thinner glaze is desired.
