Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- butter
- coconut - 1/2 c
- soda
- nuts - 1 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- can fruit cocktail - 1 item
- can cream - 1/3 item
How to make fruit cocktail cake:
Icing:1/4 lb. butter1/3 can cream3/4 c. sugar1 c. nuts1/2 c. coconut Preheat oven to 300°. Combine eggs, fruit cocktail, sugar, flour and soda. Pour into a greased 9 x 14-inch pan. Bake 1 hour and turn off the oven and leave the cake in for 10 more minutes. Remove and let cool a few minutes then pour on topping.Topping: Mix butter, cream and sugar and bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add nuts, coconut and vanilla. Mix well and pour over cake.
