Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 item
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • water - 2 c
  • self-rising flour*
  • 1/2 apples or other fruit - 2 item

How to make fruit cobbler:

*Or put 1 teaspoon baking powder in 1 1/2 cups flour.

In a 9 x 13-inch baking dish melt 1 stick margarine and set aside. Peel and chop apples or other fruit. Mix flour until it forms a ball. Roll out on floured board to about 1/4-inch thick. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Put fruit on crust and roll up as a jelly roll. Slice about 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick and place in prepared baking pan. Mix sugar and water and heat to melt sugar. Pour this over slices in baking dish. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350° until lightly brown. Other fruits can be substituted. If fruit has liquid on it, substitute it for some of the water.
