Fresh vegetable casserole
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onion - 3/4 c
- soft bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- medium tomatoes, sliced - 2 item
- bacon drippings - 2 Tbsp
- chopped cooked ham - 2 c
- cooked green beans
- diced potatoes, cooked - 1 c
- sliced cooked carrots
How to make fresh vegetable casserole:
Combine butter and flour in small bowl to make smooth paste. Add to hot milk in saucepan, gradually stirring constantly. Add the next 7 ingredients; mix well. Pour into buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole. Arrange tomato slices over top. Brown bread crumbs in bacon drippings in a skillet. Sprinkle over tomatoes.
