- sugar - 1 item
- vinegar - 1 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- green onions - 1 item
- lettuce - 1 item
- bacon - 1 item
How to make wilted lettuce:
Dry lettuce with toweling. Tear lettuce into a large salad bowl. For each eight cups loosely packed leaves, cook four strips of bacon until crisp in skillet. Crumble. Reserve. To bacon fat in skillet add and stir in 1/2 cup diced green onions, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper and 1/3 cup vinegar. Cook two minutes. Pour hot dressing over lettuce. Sprinkle with bacon. Toss to coat greens evenly. Makes four servings.Recipe categories: American, Salads, Vegetables.
