French toast with orange sauce
Ingredients/Components
- eggs - 5 item
- half and half - 3/4 c
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- dash of salt - 1 item
- orange juice - 1/2 c
- grated orange rind
- slices bread - 12 item
- butter/margarine, divided - 3/4 c
- Melt butter 2 tablespoons in skillet; dip 4 bread slices, 1 at a time, into egg mixture, coating well
How to make french toast with orange sauce:
Combine first 6 ingredients in shallow bowl; beat well. Melt butter (2 tablespoons) in skillet; dip 4 bread slices, 1 at a time, into egg mixture, coating well. Let drain; arrange in skillet and cook 4 minutes on each side or until browned. Repeat procedure with remaining bread, adding butter as needed. Serve toast with Orange Sauce.Orange Sauce:1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar3/4 c. orange juice3 tsp. grated orange rind Combine ingredients in small saucepan, stirring well. Bring to a boil.
