French onion soup
Ingredients/Components
- butter - 4 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 tsp
- medium onions, sliced - 6 item
- cans water - 2 item
- cans beef consomme - 2 item
- pieces Provolone cheese - 4 item
- piece toast for each bowl with crust cut off - 1 item
How to make french onion soup:
In large covered saucepan, cook onions in butter over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add beef consomme and water until it boils. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes. Place toast in each bowl and then pour hot soup over toast. Lay cheese across top of bowl and place in a 350° oven for about 5 minutes.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Meat, French.
