Ingredients/Components

  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • beef broth - 2 c
  • Monterey Jack cheese - 1/2 c
  • large onions, cut in rings - 2 item
  • pieces toasted French bread - 2 item

How to make french onion soup:

Melt butter and saute onions. Add onions to beef broth; cook for 10 minutes. Pour into ovenproof bowls. Lay sliced French bread on top of soup. Sprinkle with cheese and broil until cheese is golden.
