French coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- buttermilk or sour milk - 1 c
- finely chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- stick oleo - 1 item
- apples - 2 item
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt
How to make french coffee cake:
Cream oleo, sugar and eggs. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Dissolve soda in milk. Add flour mixture and milk alternately. Add vanilla. Pour 2/3 of batter in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Slice apples thinly and put over batter and 1/2 sugar mix over apples. Pour remaining batter over apples and remaining sugar mix over the top.
