French breakfast puffs
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- baking powder
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/3 c
How to make french breakfast puffs:
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar and egg. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Stir in alternately with 1/2 cup milk. Fill greased muffin pan 2/3 full. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Roll in (or brush on) melted butter, then roll in cinnamon and sugar.Recipe categories: Breads, Lunch/snacks, Breakfast.
