  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • baking powder
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/3 c
  • melted oleo - 1/2 c
  • Grease 15 muffin cups

How to make french breakfast muffins:

Heat oven to 350°. Grease 15 muffin cups. Mix thoroughly shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Alternate with milk. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 20 to 25 minutes.Topping:1/2 c. sugar1 tsp. cinnamon1/2 c. melted oleo Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Immediately after baking roll muffins in melted oleo, then in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Serve warm.
