Ingredients/Components

  • flour
  • brown sugar
  • egg - 1 item
  • salad oil - 2/3 c
  • nuts if desired - 1/2 c
  • sour milk or buttermilk - 1 c
  • each: salt, soda and vanilla - 1 tsp
  • fresh rhubarb, diced

How to make rhubarb bread:

Mix in order given. Pour into greased loaf pans. Sprinkle top with mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon butter. Bake at 325° for 60 minutes. Do not overbake.

Note: May use frozen rhubarb.
