Fish chowder
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- carrots, diced - 2 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- stalk celery, sliced - 1 item
- potatoes, peeled and diced - 2 item
- butter or margarine, divided - 2 Tbsp
- chopped parsley optional - 1 Tbsp
- dry white wine or water - 1 c
How to make fish chowder:
In 3-quart saucepan, over medium heat, saute onion, carrots and celery in 1 tablespoon butter or margarine. Add fish, potatoes, bay leaf, salt, thyme, pepper and wine. Cover; simmer 20 minutes. With fork, break fish into chunks. Add milk and remaining butter. Discard bay leaf. Sprinkle with parsley. Makes 4 servings.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Cod.
