Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- eggs - 4 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- brown sugar - 2 1/2
- butter - 3/4 c
- evaporated milk - 1/4 c
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- cloves - 1 tsp
- fig preserves - 2 c
How to make fig cake:
Icing:1 c. brown sugar1/4 c. evaporated milk1 tsp. butter1 tsp. vanilla Cream together brown sugar, butter, eggs until smooth, add vanilla and salt. In 1 c. buttermilk dissolve soda, then add to mixture. Blend spices to mixture, slowly add flour until smooth. Beat in fig preserves and finally fold in chopped nuts. Bake in well greased tube or bundt pan at 325 degrees, for 40 minutes or until done. In saucepan cook icing ingredients until thickened.
