Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • stick oleo - 1 item
  • Wesson oil - 1 c
  • fig preserves - 1 c
  • Add eggs, butter and milk gradually

How to make fig cake:

Sift dry ingredients and add oil; beat well. Add eggs, butter and milk gradually. Add figs, nuts and vanilla. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.Frosting:1/2 buttermilk1 c. sugar1 stick oleo1 Tbsp. corn syrup1 tsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients together and boil 3 minutes. Pour over hot cake.
