  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • corn syrup - 1 Tbsp
  • cloves - 3/4 tsp
  • Wesson oil - 1 c
  • fig preserves - 1 c
  • Gradually add oil and beat well

How to make fig preserve cake:

Sift flour, sugar, salt, soda and spices. Gradually add oil and beat well. Add figs, nuts and vanilla. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325°. Pour sauce over cake while still warm.Sauce:1/2 c. sugar1 Tbsp. corn sy
