Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • plain flour - 2 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • Wesson oil - 1 c
  • fig preserves, cut up - 1 c

How to make fig cake:

Sift together first 7 ingredients. Add oil, mix well. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add buttermilk and vanilla. Add cut up fig preserves and nuts. Mix well. Bake in tube pan on 325° for 1 hour (more if needed).
