  • sugar - 1 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • vanilla extract - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • unbaked 9-inch pastry shell - 1 item
  • light corn syrup - 1 c
  • pecan halves
  • melted butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp

How to make favorite pecan pie:

Prick bottom and sides of pastry shell; bake at 400° for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool. Beat eggs until light and lemon colored; add sugar and corn syrup, beating until fluffy. Add butter, salt and vanilla; stir well. Pour filling into pastry shell. Top with pecan halves. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until center is firm. Yield: One 9-inch pie.
