Enchilada sauce
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- 4 oz - 1 lb
- minced onion - 2 Tbsp
- Tabasco - 1/4 tsp
- fat or drippings - 2 Tbsp
How to make enchilada sauce:
Brown onion in hot fat. Stir in flour, then stir in rest of ingredients. Add about 1/2 cup tomato juice (drained from tomatoes) to make a sauce of medium thickness. Let simmer until thickened.Note: Enchiladas fit perfectly in 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish or 13 x 9 1/2 x 2-inch pan.
