Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 3/4 c
- milk
- slices bread, cubed - 6 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- prepared mustard - 1 tsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- eggs, slightly beaten - 5 item
- grated sharp Cheddar - 1/2 c
- sausage, cooked and drained - 1 lb
- can mushrooms, chopped - 1 oz
- grated Swiss - 1/2 c
How to make egg strata:
Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan. Lay cubed bread. Sprinkle sausage over bread, then mushrooms and both cheeses on top. Add cream and milk to eggs. Add seasonings. Pour over mixture in pan. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes until custard sets. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Cheese, Omelets and frittatas.
