Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1/2 c
  • soy sauce - 1 tsp
  • bean sprouts - 3/4 c
  • cornstarch or flour - 1 Tbsp
  • few grains black pepper - 1 item
  • shrimp, diced - 4 item
  • ham, cut in slivers - 1/8 c
  • Saute in a little oil in a hot skillet

How to make egg foo yung:

Chop bean sprouts slightly and add to rest of the ingredients, except egg. Saute in a little oil in a hot skillet. Remove from skillet when cooked. Beat eggs and stir in cooked ingredients. Heat more oil in frying pan and put in enough egg mixture to form a small omelet. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Serve with chopped green onion, parsley or with the Sauce.Sauce:3/4 c. bouillon1/2 c. water1 Tbsp. cornstarch1 tsp. soy sauce1/2 tsp. sugar Cook all ingredients until thickened. Salt to taste. Serves 4.
