Easy yeast rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/3 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- warm water - 2 c
- sifted all-purpose flour - 6 c
- dry yeast - 2 pkg
- stick oleo, melted in 8 x 8 x 2-inch square pan - 3/4 item
How to make easy yeast rolls:
Place water in large bowl. Add dry yeast and stir. Add salt and sugar; stir. Add 3 cups flour; stir. Add egg and Crisco and stir well. Add 3 cups flour; stir well. Cover and refrigerate. When ready to bake, divide dough in half. Knead half dough lightly. Roll into about 8 x 16-inch piece. Spread with half the oleo. Fold dough lengthwise in pan. Let rise to double in bulk. Brush other half of oleo on dough. Bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes. May bake other half following day or use as follows.Pull Apart Cinnamon Bread: Take rest of dough and roll out thin. Melt 1 stick oleo in Bundt pan. Spread about 1/2 of melted oleo on dough. Coat with sugar and a generous amount of cinnamon. Cut in squares and place in Bundt pan. Let rise to double in bulk. Bake as for Easy Yeast Rolls.
