  • vinegar - 1 qt
  • red pepper - 1 item
  • dill seed - 1/4 tsp
  • garlic - 1 item
  • powdered alum - 1/8 tsp
  • to 15 medium small cucumbers, iced overnight - 10 item

How to make dill pickles:

Sterilize quart jars. Fill jars with seasonings and cucumbers. Add boiling liquid. Seal jars. Cold pack in canner for 20 minutes.
