Ingredients/Components

  • chopped onion - 1/4 c
  • sesame seed
  • prepared mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 1/4 c
  • mayonnaise - 2 Tbsp
  • chopped dill pickle - 2 Tbsp
  • can refrigerated crescent rolls - 1 oz
  • can chunk water-packed tuna, drained and flaked - 1 1/2

How to make crescent tuna melt:

Combine mayonnaise, pickle, mustard and onion in a medium bowl. Stir in tuna. Unroll dough into 2 rectangles. Place on ungreased baking sheet with the long sides overlapping 1/2-inch. Firmly press perforations to seal. Press or roll to form a 10 x 8-inch rectangle. Spoon tuna mixture in a 2 1/2-inch wide strip lengthwise down the center of dough. Sprinkle cheese over filling.

For braided appearance, make cuts an inch apart on each side of rectangle just to edge of filling. Fold dough strips at an angle halfway across filling, alternating from side to side. Sprinkle with sesame seed. Bake at 375° for 18 to 22 minutes or until a deep golden brown. Cool 5 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 3 servings.
