  • salt - 1 tsp
  • ground nutmeg - 3/4 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • can chicken broth - 1 item
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • heavy or whipping cream - 1 c
  • large all-purpose potatoes - 6 item

How to make creamy scalloped potatoes:

Heat oven to 325°. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. In medium bowl, combine onion, chicken broth, cream, bay leaf, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Wash potatoes, cut into 1/4-inch slices and arrange in overlapping pattern in baking dish. Gently pour broth mixture over potatoes. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake 45 minutes. Remove cover and baste potatoes with juices in pan. Bake, uncovered, 45 minutes longer.
