Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • water - 1/4 c
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • tomato sauce - 8 oz
  • cloves garlic, crushed - 2 item
  • chicken - 2 to
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • mushrooms - 1 c
  • tomatoes - 16 oz

How to make chicken cacciatore:

Mix flour with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Coat chicken with flour mixture. Heat oil and cook chicken over medium heat until brown, 15 minutes. Drain. Mix tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, water, onion, garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, oregano, 1/4 teaspoon pepper and bay leaf. Break up tomatoes; pour over chicken. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes; serve with spaghetti.
