Creamy chicken casserole
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- jar chopped pimiento, drained - 1 item
- sliced fresh mushrooms - 1 c
- bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- minced onion - 1/4 c
- white pepper - 1/8 tsp
- diced, cooked chicken or turkey - 2 c
- tarragon leaves - 1 tsp
- frozen peas, thawed - 1 c
- box elbow macaroni Buitoni #35 - 1 oz
How to make creamy chicken casserole:
Prepare macaroni according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile, prepare sauce. In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, cook mushrooms and onion until tender in butter. Do not brown. Stir in remaining ingredients except macaroni and bread crumbs. Heat through.In a 2 1/2-quart baking dish, combine sauce and macaroni. Toss to coat evenly. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Stir. Top with bread crumbs. Bake 10 minutes more.
