Cream puffs
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- water - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- eggs, unbeaten - 4 item
How to make cream puffs:
Bring water, shortening and salt to a boil. Stir in flour and cook until dough forms a smooth ball and leaves sides of saucepan clean. Then remove from heat and cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Drop by spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 450° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400° and bake 25 minutes more. Cool. Slit and fill with sweetened whipped cream or pudding filling. Yield: 12 large cream puffs.Recipe categories: Desserts, < 60 mins, 5 ingredients or less.
