Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- milk
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- Cool Whip - 1 item
- egg yolk - 1 item
- baked pastry shell - 1 item
- Mix sugar, salt, flour and remaining milk together
How to make cream pie:
Scald 1 cup milk over boiling water. Mix sugar, salt, flour and remaining milk together. Stir into hot milk and cook slowly until thickened, stirring constantly. Cover and cook over boiling water for 5 minutes. Add mixture slowly to egg yolk and cook 1 minute longer. Add butter and vanilla. Cool. Pour into pastry shell and cover with whipped cream. Makes 1 (8-inch) pie.Variations: Banana: Use 4 ripe bananas. Fill pastry shell with alternate layers of sliced bananas and cooled filling.Chocolate: Add 1 ounce (square) chocolate, melted and 2 tablespoons sugar.
