Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 1/2
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 1/3 c
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- egg yolks - 3 item
- baked shell - 1 item
How to make cream pie:
Mix flour, salt and sugar. Bring milk to boil and add to dry ingredients, stirring constantly. Cook this in a double boiler, stirring until thick, about 15 minutes. Add egg yolks and butter; cook 2 minutes longer. Add vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell; cover with meringue or Cool Whip (your preference).Meringue: Beat 3 egg whites and 6 tablespoons sugar in double boiler until stiff.
Use this recipe to make Banana Cream Pies: Slice 3 or 4 bananas; add to filling.
