Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- pkg
- milk - 1 item
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- melted butter - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 4 c
- dash of salt - 1 item
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- yeast - 2 pkg
- warm water 105~ to 115~ - 1/2 c
- Topping: confectioners sugar
How to make cream cheese danish:
Filling:2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened3/4 c. sugar1 egg, beaten dash of salt2 tsp. vanilla Topping: confectioners sugar milk Heat sour cream over low heat. Stir in sugar, salt and butter. Cool until lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast in warm water in large bowl and stir until dissolved. Add sour cream, eggs and flour. Mix well. Cover tight and chill overnight. Divide into 4 equal parts. Roll out on well floured board into 4 (12 x 8-inch) rectangles. Spread 1/2 filling over each rectangle. Roll up like jelly roll longways. Pinch edges together and fold under.Place on greased baking sheet. Split each loaf down center. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes. When loaves are still warm, drizzle with confectioners sugar and milk mixture. Recipe may be halved and frozen. This recipe makes 4 loaves.
