Cornmeal muffins
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 1/4 c
- cornmeal - 1 c
- white flour - 1 c
How to make cornmeal muffins:
Combine flour, cornbread, sugar, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Cut in shortening with fingers until mixture is crumbly. Add milk and egg; beat with hand electric mixer for 1 minute.Fill greased muffin tins 1/2 to 2/3 full. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.
