Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1 Tbsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1 Tbsp
  • water
  • oil - 1 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • cornmeal
  • chili powder - 1 tsp
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • black pepper to taste - 1 item
  • tomato soup - 1 c
  • size - 1 can
  • ground beef, brown well and drain - 1 lb

How to make cornbread pie:

Cornbread Topping:3/4 c. cornmeal1 Tbsp. flour1 Tbsp. sugar1 egg1/2 c. milk1 Tbsp. oil Combine ground beef and onion in skillet (iron). Add remaining ingredients to beef and onion; mix well. Let simmer for 15 minutes. Top with Cornbread Topping.

Cornbread Topping: Mix thoroughly and pour over ground beef mixture. (Optional: May use 1 package cornbread mix.) Bake in oven at 350° for 20 minutes. May add catsup to first mixture in you want it more moist.
