Cornbread pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- water
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- egg - 1 item
- cornmeal
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- black pepper to taste - 1 item
- tomato soup - 1 c
- size - 1 can
- ground beef, brown well and drain - 1 lb
How to make cornbread pie:
Cornbread Topping:3/4 c. cornmeal1 Tbsp. flour1 Tbsp. sugar1 egg1/2 c. milk1 Tbsp. oil Combine ground beef and onion in skillet (iron). Add remaining ingredients to beef and onion; mix well. Let simmer for 15 minutes. Top with Cornbread Topping.Cornbread Topping: Mix thoroughly and pour over ground beef mixture. (Optional: May use 1 package cornbread mix.) Bake in oven at 350° for 20 minutes. May add catsup to first mixture in you want it more moist.
