Chili lasagna
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/3 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- margarine - 1 Tbsp
- cornmeal - 2/3 c
- chili powder - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onions - 1 c
- sliced celery - 1 c
- pinto beans - 1 can
- luncheon meat, cubed - 1 can
- Chef Boyardee lasagna - 2 cans
How to make chili lasagna:
In a large skillet, saute onions and celery in margarine. Add lasagna, beans, meat, water, chili powder and salt; mix well. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt and sugar. Beat egg, milk and oil together; pour over cornmeal mixture and mix well. Spoon dumplings onto heated chili lasagna mixture and cover. Simmer 20 minutes or until dumplings are set. Serves six.Variation: Preheat oven to 375°. Pour lasagna mixture into 2-quart baking dish. Spoon dumplings onto surface. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes or until dumplings are set.
