Cornbread dressing
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1 item
- flour
- soda - 1/4 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- stick butter - 1/2 item
- eggs, well beaten - 4 item
- cornmeal - 2 c
- pepper - 1 item
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chicken stock - 1 item
- medium large onion - 1 item
How to make cornbread dressing:
Mix all ingredients thoroughly. If too stiff, add milk to make thinner. Cook in greased pan in medium oven until firm. Break into small pieces; pour stock over it. Add enough chicken stock to make a soft batter. Bake in a 375° oven until brown. May be used for stuffing turkey.Recipe categories: Christmas, Side dish, Stuffings Dressings.
